Copying a database object

This is the procedure for making a copy of any object in the master database except a version controlled object . (To create copies of version controlled objects, use the check-out facilities.)

  1. Right-click the object in the database tree.
  2. Select Copy from the context menu.
  3. Right-click the group under which you would like to paste the copy.
  4. From the context menu, select Paste: <object> with children.

If Paste is unavailable, you are trying to paste the object into an inappropriate place in the database.

Where the new object has the same name as an existing object in the same location, an exclamation mark (!) is added to the new object's name.

  5. If required, rename the new object.
