Locking items to prevent deletion

Administrators can lock any version controlled items to prevent users from deleting them. Locked version controlled items can be unlocked at any time.

You can lock any version controlled item in a master database or transportable database.

To lock a version controlled item:

  1. Display a view of the database in the Explorer window.
  2. Right-click the item and select Lock from the context menu.

When a version controlled item is locked, the Delete and Bulk delete options will not be available.

To unlock a version controlled item:

  1. Display a view of the database in the Explorer window.
  2. Right-click the item and select Unlock from the context menu.

Users will now be able to delete the version controlled item.
