Updating GeoExplorer zone boundaries
The boundaries of existing GeoExplorer zones can be updated from network information or by defining a bounding box.
GeoExplorer zone boundaries can be updated via the GeoExplorer window or via the GeoExplorer Zone grid view.
Updating zone boundaries via the GeoExplorer window
- Drag the Network icon from the Model
Group window or the
Explorer window onto the zone to be updated in the GeoExplorer window.
A message will be displayed asking if the network is to be used to update an existing zone boundary.
- To continue, click Yes

If multiple zones are found at the location to which the network was dragged, a multiple selection dialog will be displayed listing the zones found: in this case, select the zone to be updated and click OK.
The Add / Update GeoExplorer Zone Boundary dialog is displayed.
- In the Add / Update GeoExplorer Zone Boundary dialog, select the option to be used for creating the boundary:
- Network Extents: a zone boundary will be created based on the outermost network node locations.
- Polygon with ID: select a network polygon from the drop-down list. A zone boundary will be created based on the network polygon boundary.
- To update the zone boundary according to the option selected, click OK.
Updating zone boundaries via the GeoExplorer Zone grid view
- In the grid view, right-click in a cell of the zone to be updated and select Update zone boundary from the menu. The Add / Update GeoExplorer Zone Boundary dialog is displayed.
- To update the zone boundary using a network:
- Drag and drop a network into the selection box, or use the Browse button to browse for a network.
- Select the option to be used for creating the boundary:
- Network Extents: a zone boundary will be created based on the outermost network node locations.
- Polygon with ID: select a network polygon from the dropdown list. A zone boundary will be created based on the network polygon boundary.
- Click OK to update the zone boundary.
- To update the zone boundary using a bounding box:
- Check the Bounding Box option on the Add / Update GeoExplorer Zone Boundary dialog.
- Define the coordinates and dimensions of the bounding box.
- To update the zone boundary according to the defined parameters, click OK.
