Expand Selection Dialog
This dialog is used to extend the current selection of objects to include related objects. The expansion operation radiates from the selected objects to the related objects each time you expand the selection.
The dialog is displayed when the Expand selection option is chosen from the Selection menu.

The dialog includes a From and To pane; the contents of which may change when the selection is expanded. A check box is included next to each item in the panes. If checked, then the object type will be included in the expansion operation. As default, all items are checked.
The From pane displays the currently selected object types. Object types are only displayed in the From pane if at least one object of the relevant type is selected in the network.
The To pane displays the object types which may be added to the current selection. Object types are only displayed in the To pane if at least one object of the relevant type is included the network and the object type is related to one of the checked object types in the From pane. For example, CCTV Survey will only be displayed in the To pane if object type Pipe is checked in the From pane.
The following options can also be applied to an expansion operation:
- Between nodes and links, which is only available if an object type in the From pane is a node or a link. Check:
- Upstream - to include the related nodes and links which are located upstream from the selected nodes and links
- Downstream - to include the related nodes and links which are located downstream from the selected nodes and links
- Lateral to include the related lateral nodes which are connected to the currently selected links
- Main - to include the related main links which are connected to the currently selected lateral nodes
- From property to pipe, which is only available if an object type in the From pane is a property. Check:
- Sanitary pipes - to include the sanitary pipes which are related to the selected property objects
- Storm pipes - to include the storm pipes which are related to the selected property objects
- From hydrant test to hydrant, which is only available if an object type in the From pane is a hydrant test. Check:
- Pressure hydrant - to include the pressure hydrants which are related to the selected hydrant test objects
- Flow hydrant - to include the flow hydrants which are related to the selected hydrant test objects
By default, these options are checked indicating that they are to be included in the expansion operation. Removing a check will exclude that option from the expansion.
The Expand Selection button expands the selection while Cancel cancels the operation and closes the dialog.
