Map Layer Search dialog

This dialog can be used to search for objects in layers loaded on a map, whether the map is displayed on the Map view or embedded in a report.

Notes:

• If using dates in the search, ensure that they are expressed in the local system format.

• It is expected that users performing advanced searches are familiar with the construction of WHERE SQL statements, as no parsing of data is implemented.

The dialog is displayed when Map Layer Search is selected from the Tools group of the Map tab.

Item	Description
Ribbon	Properties group Highlight On Map Highlights the selected item on the map. View On Map Centres the selected item on the map. Search group Search Searches for the item(s) specified on the Search tab. Reports group (shown when a report layer is selected) Edit Opens the selected report for editing. View Opens the selected report for viewing. Open Work Package Opens the search dialog with the Work package field filled in for the relevant selected work package.
Search tab	Layer Dropdown list containing the available layers. Basic Field - Dropdown list containing the fields available in the selected layer. Value - Field value to be searched. Wildcards can be used. Exact match - If ticked, the search will include objects with IDs that exactly match the string entered in the Value box. Advanced Field list - List of the fields available in the selected layer. Expression box - Use this box to type in the expression to search for. A field can be added to the expression box by double-clicking it in the Field list. Note: The names in the field list are the field long names, but when these fields are double-clicked it is their short names that appear in the expression box.
Search results tab	Search results are displayed on a specific layer page, such as the CCTV Survey Layer page. Found objects are listed in a grid, with one object per row.
Context menu	Context menu options for a selected search result: View report Opens the selected report for viewing. Edit report Opens the selected report for editing. Open work package Available if a work package is set. Opens the search dialog with the Work package field filled in for the relevant selected work package. Highlight on map Highlights the selected item on the map. View on map Centres the selected item on the map. Directions from here Sets the result as the start point for directions on an online map. Set the end point by clicking on the map. The online map will then open, showing directions from the start point to the end point. Directions to here Sets the result as the end point for directions on an online map. Set the start point by clicking on the map. The online map will then open, showing directions from the start point to the end point. Copy cell Copies data from the selected cell to the clipboard. Copy row Copies data from the selected row to the clipboard.
