Importing MOUSE Network Data

MOUSE network data can be imported from:

Importing MOUSE Text Files

To import a network from a MOUSE text file:

  1. Open the network to be updated.
  2. Select Import | Model |from MOUSE text file from the Network menu. This displays the MOUSE Import Dialog.
  3. Enter the path to the text file to be imported in the Network (TXT) box, or use the browse button to select a file from a Windows File Open dialog.
  4. MOUSE uses the Manning equation to represent roughness. In InfoWorks ICM, Manning values can be represented either as M = 1 / n or n. Use the Select Network Roughness Type radio buttons to select your preference.
  5. MOUSE files may contain data in SI (ha, m) or US (acre, ft) units. Use the Units radio buttons to select the appropriate units for the text file to be imported.
  6. Set the network system type to an appropriate value using the System Type combo box.
  7. Click OK to carry out the import. The OK button is only enabled if the name of an existing TXT file has been entered.

Importing MOUSE PFS Files

To import a network from a MOUSE PFS file:

  1. Open the network to be updated.
  2. Select Import | Model |from MOUSE PFS file from the Network menu. This displays the MOUSE PFS Import Dialog.
  3. Enter the path to the text files to be imported, or use the browse button to select a file from a Windows File Open dialog. If a Project File (MPR) is selected, the Network File (UND) and Catchment File (HGF) will automatically be selected, if found.
  4. Set the network system type to an appropriate value using the System Type combo box.
  5. Click OK to carry out the import.

An import log will be displayed with any conversion errors or warnings.
