Merging Polygons

This function is used to combine a pair of polygons into a single polygon. Only polygons of the same type can be merged.

To merge polygons:

1. Select exactly two contiguous polygons of the same type on the GeoPlan Window.
2. Select the Geometry | Merge polygons option from the Model menu. This displays the Merge Polygons Dialog.
3. In this dialog:
• Enter a name for the new combined polygon in the New polygon name field.
• Choose which of the selected polygons will provide the properties for the new polygon from the Copy properties from list.
• Check the Remove old polygons option to delete the original selected polygons on creation of the new polygon.
4. Click OK to merge the poygons.
