Setting a default edit flag
Data flags are a powerful tool for recording the source and integrity of data in your model.
A default edit flag can be set that will apply to all future editing operations until the option is disabled. Only user created flags can be selected for use as an edit flag.
The edit flag option applies to all changes made on the grid views or property sheets.
To enable the edit flag option:
- On the Edit toolbar,
click the Use edit flag button
to turn on the option. When turned on, the button is shown with a blue outline.
When the option is switched on, you can access the Select edit flag dropdown list
. - Choose an edit flag from the dropdown list.
InfoWorks WS Pro will now apply this flag to all edits until the option is disabled by clicking the Use edit flag button again.
The edit flag is not just applied for basic editing operations, but also for:
- pasting from the clipboard
- adjusting or replacing a block of values
