Synergi conversion notes
Synergi Water data is contained in a Microsoft Access Database file (.MDB).
This topic discusses how InfoWorks converts existing Synergi network components into an InfoWorks network and InfoWorks network objects. Some data is not imported at all, or is only partially imported. Some Synergi objects are imported as more complex InfoWorks objects, and additional data will be required to completely define these InfoWorks objects.
General Notes
To import Synergi data, a minimum version of Synergi 4.3 is required (versions 4.3 to 4.7 are supported).
Due to differences between InfoWorks WS and Synergi data models, a number of adjustments are made during the import process:
- Synergi node and link names have a length of 32 characters. InfoWorks WS node names are restricted to 30 characters. The importer will truncate names over 30 characters in length.
- Synergi labels are not imported
- Synergi scripts are not imported
- Synergi pump types HP and QH are not imported
- Synergi can include assets in the model that are marked as 'inactive'. All elements in the Synergi model are imported into the InfoWorks network. Active elements are saved in a selection list which is included in the InfoWorks run object. Inactive elements are therefore excluded from the run by default.

Node Description |
Fixed heads
Nodes are imported as fixed head nodes if they have a known pressure and they are not a control node for a valve or a pumping station. If the fixed head nodes have demand in Synergi then the demands are not imported because fixed head nodes in InfoWorks cannot have demand.
