Renaming Additional User Fields
InfoAsset Manager provides additional user fields that can be viewed from the Network Object Grid Windows and from the Network Property Sheets.
There are 40 numeric fields, 40 text fields and five date fields. By default, the names of these fields are set to the database default names defined in the User Defined Field Names Dialog in the InfoAsset Manager. If default names have not been defined for the current database, the fields are named User Number 1 to User Number 40, User Text 1 to User Text 40 and User Date 1 to User Date 5.
User field names can also be renamed in the Network Grid Windows, overriding the global default names defined in the InfoAsset Manager.
Names for additional user fields set via the Grid Window are a property of the network. When a name is changed, it only applies to the current network.
To rename a field:
- Right click on the column header for the field in question
- Select Set heading for this column from the popup menu. This displays the Set Heading for Column Dialog.
- Type a new name in the dialog (if there is no name entered in the dialog, the column heading will revert to the default heading).
Every column is treated independently, so different names can be set for each column for each type of network object.
Long user defined field names may not be fully visible when displayed on property sheets.
