Asset Points
Asset Points can be created on the GeoPlan Window or Asset Grid Window. See Digitising Network Objects for details.
The objects can be viewed and edited from the Object Properties Window or from the Asset Grid Window.
The different types of Asset Point object available are:
The data logger object is an asset point object used to represent devices used for monitoring and storing data at sites in the network. Data loggers are used most commonly to monitor flows, pressures and depths.
See the Data Logger Data Fields (Collection) and Data Logger Data Fields (Distribution) topics for more information.
Generator objects are represented as individual asset points and are generally (but not exclusively) associated with pump stations. The generator object has data on (for example) the make model and capacity of generator, as well as maintaining information on the condition of the asset in the usual manner.
See the Generator Data Fields (Collection) and Generator Data Fields (Distribution) topics for more information.
The manhole object is a Distribution Network asset point object used to represent access chambers used for inspection and maintenance of the water supply network.
The manhole object includes information about chamber construction, chamber dimensions and difficulties associated with access.
See the Manhole Data Fields topic for more information.
A pump station provides information on the physical structure within which pumps are installed. The pump station can be created as a point object or as a polygon object. The polygon can be used to represent the boundaries of the building or structure itself. The pump station object includes information about the construction of the building, the surrounding area and any difficulties associated with accessing the station.
There may be many pumps associated with a pump station. A pump is associated with a pump station by placing the pump geographically within the pump station boundaries. Similarly, generator objects may be associated with the pump station by locating the objects within the pump station boundary.
See the Pump Station Data Fields (Collection) and Pump Station Data Fields (Distribution) topics for more information.
A general asset is a point object that can be used to represent any asset type that is not connected to the water network and not supported by any of the other InfoAsset Manager asset objects. The general asset includes information on asset location, condition and maintenance.
A report providing a summary and detailed information about selected general assets in the network is available.
See the General Asset Data Fields (Collection) and General Asset Data Fields (Distribution) topics for more information.
User defined asset points can be used for any purpose in the network. See the User Defined Asset Data Fields topic for more information.
