Asset Areas
Asset Areas can be created on the GeoPlan Window or Asset Grid Window. See Digitising Network Objects for details.
The objects can be viewed and edited from the Object Properties Window or from the Asset Grid Window.
The different types of Asset Area object available are:
A pump station provides information on the physical structure within which pumps are installed. The pump station can be created as a point object or as a polygon object. The polygon can be used to represent the boundaries of the building or structure itself. The pump station object includes information about the construction of the building, the surrounding area and any difficulties associated with accessing the station.
There may be many pumps associated with a pump station. A pump is associated with a pump station by placing the pump geographically within the pump station boundaries. Similarly, generator objects may be associated with the pump station by locating the objects within the pump station boundary.
See Pump Station (Collection) Data Fields and Pump Station (Distribution) Data Fields for further information.
The treatment works object uses a polygon to represent the boundaries of the site. The treatment works includes information about supply to and output from the works.
See Treatment Works (Collection) Data Fields and Treatment Works (Distribution) Data Fields for further information.
The storage area object uses a polygon to represent the boundaries of a storage structure such as a reservoir or pond.
The storage area can also be created as a node object and is connected to the network via pipes or ancillaries.
See Storage Area Data Fields for further information.
The defence area object uses a polygon to represent the boundaries of sea defence structures such as salt marshes, beaches or dunes.
See Defence Area Data Fields for further information.
