Nodes
A node represents a physical structure in the drainage system. Nodes can also be used to represent the junction of two pipes.
Nodes can be created on the GeoPlan Window or Asset Grid Window. See Digitising Network Objects for details.
The objects can be viewed and edited from the Property Sheet or from the Asset Grid View.
The different types of node available are as follows:
- Node - a node represents a physical structure in the drainage system such as a manhole.
- Connection Node - a connection node is used to represent connections within the network where there is no recognisable asset. They may be used to act as a junction between two or more pipes or as a connection point for an ancillary to the end of a pipe. Connection nodes have very few properties in their own as right, as they are only intended to represent the connection, without the overhead of storing unnecessary asset fields.
- Outlet - an outlet node is used to represent a point of discharge from, or to, the collection system.
- Storage Area - a storage area is used to represent a storage structure such as a reservoir or pond. A storage area may be created as either a Node or as an asset area.
