Importing Tasks from InfoAsset Planner
Work orders and inspection tasks can be imported into any type of InfoAsset Manager network from an InfoAsset Planner Geodatabase.
To import tasks:
- Open the InfoAsset Manager network which is to be updated with the InfoAsset Planner work orders and inspection tasks.
- Select Network | Import | Import tasks from InfoAsset Planner.
The Import Tasks from InfoAsset Planner dialog is displayed.
- Click the ellipsis button to display the Select Data window, then find the InfoAsset Planner Geodatabase from which the work orders and inspection tasks are to be imported.
- When you have selected the applicable Geodatabase, click Add.
The work orders and inspection tasks are extracted from the Geodatabase, and the Select Data window is closed.
If any of the extracted work orders and inspection tasks types and sub tasks did not originate in InfoAsset Manager, these will be displayed in the mapping grids and will require mapping as described in Step 5. If they originated in InfoAsset Manager, the grids will not be displayed and the data can be imported as described in Step 6.
- If the mappings you want to use have been saved to a configuration file, click the Load Config button, then select the appropriate cfg file from the Windows Open dialog.
Any invalid mappings from the configuration file are listed in a Configuration Warnings window, and can subsequently be manually mapped in the grids as described below.
-
If a suitable configuration file is not available, use the Work Orders and Inspection Tasks grids to map the work orders and inspection tasks types and sub types from InfoAsset Planner to InfoAsset Manager tasks types and sub types as applicable.
Currently defined InfoAsset Manager task types and sub type options are displayed in the dropdown lists. A sub type field is enabled only if sub types are available for the selected task type.
If the sub type option you want to use is not included in the relevant InfoAsset Manager dropdown list, you can type in a new one.
Tip: New sub types options can be made available in InfoAsset Manager by adding them to the applicable choice lists. When the import is complete, you can validate the network. Error messages will highlight any unrecognised (new) task sub types.
- When you are satisfied that the InfoAsset Planner work orders and inspection tasks types and sub types have been correctly mapped to InfoAsset Manager tasks and subtypes, click the OK button to complete the import.
Imported data will be highlighted by an IAP flag in the property sheets for the relevant objects.
Saving and Reloading Configurations
You can save and reload the mappings between InfoAsset Planner and InfoAsset Manager that are displayed in the Work Orders and Inspection Tasks grids.
- Click Save Config in the Import Tasks from InfoAsset Planner dialog.
This displays a Windows Save As dialog, enabling you to specify the location and name of the configuration (cfg) file you want to save the current grid mappings to. The specified file is saved when the Save button is selected in the Save As dialog.
- Click Load Config in the Import Tasks from InfoAsset Planner dialog.
This displays a Windows Open dialog from which you can select the configuration (cgf) file you want to use. The mappings contained in the selected file will be loaded to the grid when the Open button is selected in this dialog. Any invalid task mappings from the configuration file are listed in a Configuration Warnings window. The invalid work orders and inspection tasks can then be manually mapped in the grid.
