Extreme Values Analysis Table View
The Extreme Values Analysis Table View shows the results of fitting a statistical distribution to a series of maxima data. The data sources and statistical distribution to be used are defined in the Layout page of the Custom Graph View.
The view is displayed when the Extreme values analysis tables button on the custom graph dialog toolbar is clicked.
- Percentiles Page - grid view of the cumulative distribution curve values resulting from the fitting of a selected statistical distribution to a series of maxima data.
- Return Period Page - grid view of the values used when plotting Return Period along the x-axis of the extreme value analysis graph.
- Goodness of Fit Page - summary grid view of the Chi Square test on the goodness of fit of sample data defined in the Layout page of the Custom Graph Dialog to a selected statistical distribution (see below).
Goodness of Fit Grid
Column | Description |
---|---|
Min Value / Max Value | Defines the range of the attribute values being analysed. |
Expected count | Number of values expected to fall within range defined by Min Value and Max Value |
Observed count |
Number of observed values that fall within range defined by Min Value and Max Value. Observed values are determined as the peak values within each episode in the Episode Collection selected in the Custom Graph View. |
(O-E)**2/E |
Chi square for each cell calculated as: (Observed Count - Expected Count)2 / Expected Count The sum of these values is the total chi square value. |
