Results Management
The Results Management View displays a Grid Window of simulations in the Master Database or in a particular Master Group or Model Group. The grid describes the simulations, and what results are currently stored. The grid can be used to re-run selected simulations, remove unwanted results or view further information.
The following versions of the view are available:
- Master Group Management View: displays all simulation within a Master Group.
- Model Group Results Management View: displays all simulations within a Model Group.
To display the Results Management View right-click on the model group or master database icon in the Explorer window and select Open results manager from the popup menu.
Multiple Results Management Views can be opened for the same object or for different objects.
Grid columns
The Results Management grid contains the following columns:
Group |
The name of the Model Group within which the simulations were carried out. |
Path |
Path of the Model Group within which the simulations were carried out. |
ID |
The internal database identifier for this simulation. |
Run |
The name of the run within which the simulations were carried out. |
Sim |
The name of the simulation. |
Status |
The current simulation status: Pending, Complete, Unknown or Failed. |
Date |
The date and time when the simulation was carried out. |
User |
The user who carried out the simulation. |
Location |
The location where results are stored:
|
Size |
Size of the results file. |
Log file |
Indicates whether a log file is |
Selecting simulations
You can select one or more simulations in the list:
- Click on a row to select that row.
- Click on a row and then drag the pointer with the Shift key held down to select a range of rows.
- Click on a row with the CTRL key held down to add that row to the existing selection.
Menu operations
Right-click anywhere in the grid to display a popup menu. The menu provides the following options, which are carried out on the selected simulations:
Delete time-varying results files |
Deletes the time-varying data files. Only the simulation log file, the simulation status file and the state files will remain. The simulation can be re-run to regenerate the results. |
Delete all results files |
Deletes |
Delete simulation |
Deletes the entire simulation. The simulation is permanently destroyed and cannot be re-run. |
Move results files to server |
Moves the results data files to server. (See below for further details) |
Re-runs the simulation. |
|
View log file |
Displays the simulation log file. |
Refresh from database |
Reloads details of either the selected simulations or all simulations from the database. This option may be needed as changes to the status of simulations are not refreshed automatically. |
All these options display a prompt requesting confirmation of the action.
Move results data to server
The Move results files to server option allows results generated on a local machine to be copied to the Remote Results Root. The Remote Results Root should be set up on a server, where other users will have access. There are some rules governing the regeneration of results when those results have been moved:
- If the results have been moved to the server and the data files exist on the server, regeneration will generate the files on the server.
- If the results have been moved to the server and then deleted, regeneration will generate the files according to the location set for the run to which the simulation belongs.
- An attempt to move simulation results when they have been deleted has no effect on location.
Sorting the data
The simulations list can be sorted on any column when you click on the column header.
