Total Storage Dialog

The Total Storage Dialog is used to select options for plotting and calculating total storage in the network or in a selection of objects in the network.

The dialog is displayed when Storage operations | Total storage calculation is selected from the Model menu.

Description

Calculate total storage below

The upper height limit for storage analysis.

The default value is the highest level of storage in the network / selection to be analysed.

Total storage will be calculated between the lowest level of storage in the network / selection and the value entered on this dialog.

Split total storage into live and dead storage

Check this box to calculate the live and dead components of total storage in addition to the overall static storage.

Dead storage is calculated as the storage that cannot drain to an outfall or pump wet well (determined by the off level of the pump).

Live storage is calculated as the overall static storage minus dead storage.

If there are no outfalls or pumps in the selection to be analysed, this option will not be available.

Generate storage graph

Check this box to plot a graph of static storage between the lowest level of storage in the network / selection and the highest level entered on this dialog.

The graph shows the total static storage curve and subsidiary curves showing the relative contributions of manholes, manhole additional storage, storage nodes and links.

If live and dead storage are calculated, these appear as additional pages of the graph. Use Page Up and Down buttons to view these graphs.

Save storage results in user number fields

This option will not be available if the current network is read only.

Check this box to save storage calculations for network objects in user number fields.

Values are calculated between the lowest level of storage in the network / selection and the highest level entered on this dialog. Values are only stored for objects that have storage (and not, for example, at outfalls, break nodes or controls).

Live, dead and drainage level values will be stored only if the Also calculate live and dead storage option has been checked. If the object is unable to drain, the drainage level (user number 4) will be left blank.
