About analysing pumping station operation

You can analyse the operation of a pumping station, including viewing its behaviour during a simulation, using the Pumping Station dialog.

There are several options permanently available in the dialog that allow you to control exactly what data is displayed.

The curves are applicable to all pumps though the variable ones are more relevant to profile pumps where the speed is varied during the simulation. However, there is nothing to stop you from declaring a nominal speed for the pump curve then running it at a different speed.

The nominal speed curves for head/flow, power consumption, and efficiency are supplied by the pump manufacturer. Those corresponding to actual speed are calculated in InfoWorks WS Pro using a formula relating current speed in RPM to nominal speed.

For simulation replay, additional options are available if you open the report for a pumping station in a completed simulation.

You can print the graph or view, copy the graph to the clipboard for use in another application, or export the graph data to a CSV file.
