EPANET Import wizard
The EPANET Import wizard is used to import EPANET networks into InfoWorks WS Pro. To open the wizard, right-click the model group (in the Explorer window or Model Group window) and choose Import | Model from Epanet v2 Files from the context menu.
Models created in older versions of EPANET can be imported, but it is strongly recommended that they are converted to EPANET Version 2. To convert old models, load them into EPANET 2, then export the network.
Further information can be found in the following topics:
- Importing EPANET data - an introduction to the import process
- EPANET conversion notes - discusses the issues involved in the import and what further actions may be needed to complete the imported InfoWorks WS Pro model.
The EPANET Import wizard includes the following pages:
- Start page - gives an introduction to the import process, and allows you to get help before starting the import.
- Input file page - used to select an EPANET Input (.INP) file. Use the Browse button to search for the file, or type the full path and filename into the box.
- Map file page - used to select an EPANET Map (.MAP) file. This page will be displayed only if there are no coordinates defined in the selected .INP file. Use the Browse button to search for the file, or type the full path and filename into the box.
- MSX file page - used to select an MSX file to be imported into the model's control object. This will import source profiles for nodes or reservoirs, to be used in MSQ runs.
- Names page - used to choose names for the imported network, control set, and demand diagram. The suggested names are based on the input file name.
- Finished page - displays feedback on the completed import process. Use this information, along with the EPANET conversion notes, to complete the new InfoWorks WS Pro network, control set, and demand diagram.
