Properties dialog
Each object within the master database has properties. When you right-click the object and choose Properties from the context menu, this dialog is displayed.
The dialog can have one or more of the following pages:
- Object page
General object properties
- Description page
A description of the object. Editable for most objects. The description of checked in version controlled objects may be edited only by users with sufficient user permission privileges.
- Owners page
The Owners page is included whenever you view the properties of a model group.
The page lists users who are owners or branch owners of the model group.
A database owner can choose to apply user permissions to a database, and appoint owners for model groups in the database. With permissions in force:
- Full Owners have administrative rights over the model group and can carry out all operations on the model group.
- Branch Owners have read-only access to parent objects in the model group, but may branch version-controlled parent objects and edit the branch created.
- Other users can view only data in the model group.
NoteThe properties dialog of a "child" model group will display only owners that have been specifically appointed to that group and will not display owners of parent groups. For example, if parent Model Group A with owner 'user1' has a sub Model Group B, 'user1' will only appear in the properties dialog for A although 'user1' will also have full edit powers over B.
- Simulation page
This page is displayed whenever you ask for properties for a simulation. It shows the time the run was carried out by the user, and the status of the run.
- Layer List page
This page is displayed only when you right-click a layer list and choose Properties from the context menu. It shows which layers are contained in the layer list, and which map component the layers work with.
- Hyperlinks page
Details of any hyperlinks for the object.
