Exporting results to MapInfo format
You may want to create a copy of the network with results in MapInfo (MIF) file format. This could be used to send files to another user, or for conversion to a different GIS package not supported by InfoWorks WS Pro.
There are two types of result that can be exported:
- Maximum results
- Results at a specific timestep
Maximum results
To export maximum results to MapInfo format:
- Right-click the simulation results in the Model Group window or Explorer window.
- Choose Export | Maximum
MIF from the context menu.
This will display a standard Select Folder dialog.
Note: The files are exported using standard filenames, which you cannot change. If you export to a directory where you have already exported a network with results, files will be overwritten.
- Choose the destination directory you require.
The GIS Export dialog is displayed.
- Select whether to export using InfoWorks WS Pro native units or current user units.
- To continue, click OK.
The files are now exported. Dialogs will be displayed to show you how the export of each type of object is progressing. A series of pairs of files with MIF and MID extensions are created.
Results at a specific timestep
To export results at a specific timestep to MapInfo format:
- Right-click the simulation results in the Model Group window or Explorer window.
- Choose Export | Time varying MIF from the context menu.
The Set Timestep dialog is displayed.
- Choose the timestep for which you want to export results.
- To continue, click OK.
The files are now exported. Dialogs will be displayed to show you how the export of each type of object is progressing. A series of pairs of files with MIF and MID extensions are created in a sub directory (named as the timestep exported) under the destination directory.
