Using selection lists
A selection list contains lists of the names of network objects that have been saved for future use.
The model group must already contain a selection list group.
- Select a number of objects, by clicking, opening an existing list, or running a query (or any combination of these methods).
- Choose Selection | Save Selection.
- In the Save As dialog, locate and select a selection list group.
- In the box at the top of the Save As dialog, enter a name for the selection list.
- To create the selection list, click Save.
- Drag and drop the selection list onto the GeoPlan window for the network.
Alternatives:
- Drag and drop the selection list onto the main window background. This applies the selection list to the current network.
- Right-click the selection list and choose Open. This applies the selection list to the current network.
- Hold down the Ctrl key and select more than one selection list.
- Drag and drop the lists onto the GeoPlan window.
You must apply multiple selection lists at the same time. If you try to add another selection list later, it will replace the current selections.
To open a grid view of the names of all network objects in the selection list:
- In the Model Group window, right-click the selection list and choose Open as. The Select Format dialog is displayed.
- Choose Grid View in the dialog, then click OK.
A selection list can be used in a simulation to restrict the simulation to a subset of the network. Only the objects in the selection list will be included in the simulation.
To use a selection list in a simulation, include the selection list in the Schedule Hydraulic Run view when Creating and scheduling a run.
