Adding layers to maps

To add one or more layers to a map:

  1. Open the Map Layer dialog by selecting Add Layer in the ribbon of the Map Designer or by cilcking Add Layer button on the Layers tab.
  2. Select one or more layers in the list by clicking on their name. If selecting multiple layers, click on the name of the first layer, then hold the Ctrl key down to select more layers.
  3. When finished selecting layers, release the Ctrl key.
  4. To commit your changes and close the dialog, click OK.

    A warning message may be displayed if one of the layers to be added is a WMS layer. A longitude/latitude projection system is used for WMS layers and this may be different from the projection system used for the map.

  5. If a warning message is shown, click OK to use the WMS projection for the map or click Cancel to abort the process.

    6. The selected layers are added to the current map and appear in the Layers page of the Map Designer view.
