Checking for updated reports

The checking of updated reports is automatically performed at startup time if the Download any new or updated reports on startup option has been ticked on the Communications page of the Options dialog.

It can also be carried out manually by selecting Check For Updated Reports in the Reports group of the Synchronize tab. This action is particularly useful in the context of Work Order Approval as it allows the update of work order approval statuses.

  1. Log into InfoAsset Mobile or select Check For Updated Reports in the Reports group of the Synchronize tab.

InfoAsset Mobile performs the selected checks.

    • If there are no local reports, a message saying that you have no uploaded reports to track will be displayed. This typically happens when you first connect to a system, or if the Saved and Completed tabs are empty.

InfoAsset Mobile connects to the server.

    • If there are no new versions on the server, a message saying that there are currently no new versions available is displayed. You can click OK to close the message. No updates are made.
    • If there are new versions available on the server, the Download Updated Reports dialog is displayed.
      • Either:

Select Keep Local Copy or Overwrite Local Copy in the Action for all items dropdown list, to set all the Action dropdown lists to the same value for all the reports, then, if required, click an individual report to change its Action cell to the desired value.

Note: The Keep Local Copy option does not download the updated report from the InfoAsset Mobile server and keeps the local copy of the report instead. The Overwrite Local Copy option overwrites the local copy of the report with the updated report downloaded from the InfoAsset Mobile server.

Tip: If a report that has been updated in InfoAsset Manager has, in the meantime, been locally modified, the corresponding Action cell of the Download Updated Reports dialog will be defaulted to Keep Local Copy but the user can select the other option, if required.

      • Or:

Select several reports in the list by using a combination of the mouse and the keyboard Ctrl or Shift key (depending if the reports are adjacent to each other in the list). The top report will have the Action dropdown list control enabled. Set it to the desired value. This setting will affect all the selected reports.

      • Or:

Select reports individually and set their Action cell to the desired value.

  2. Once you are happy with every action, click OK to save your changes and download the reports selected for download.
