Assimilation Objects
Assimilation objects are used in the assimilation process and define the parameters for the assimilation operation.
Working with Assimilations
Refer to the Working with Database items topics for details on how to create, open, edit, copy and delete assimilation objects.
The following bullet points highlight specific differences in the way assimilation objects behave compared to the other database items:
- To save an assimilation, either click on the
button on the top right corner of the manifest and select Yes when prompted to confirm the saving, or click on the Save button (
) of the File toolbar.
- A Copy assimilation objects option can be used to copy a selected assimilation. Unlike the standard database item Copy option, the Copy assimilation objects option enables you to select which simulations you want to copy, and also allows working model and assimilation data stored in an associated model group to be copied. Other items associated with the assimilation such as initial states and time series databases will also be copied if selected to do so. The Copy assimilation objects option is selected by right-clicking on an assimilation object in the Explorer Window.
- Assimilation objects must be validated before they are used in an assimilation operation.
Validate an Assimilation
To validate an assimilation object:
- Open the assimilation object by double-clicking on it in the tree view of the Explorer Window, or by right clicking on it and selecting the Open option from the popup menu, or by dragging and dropping it onto the middle part of the main window.
The Assimilation Dialog is displayed.
- Click on the Validate button (
) of the Validation toolbar.
InfoWorks ICM displays the Output Window, in which it will list any error, warning or information messages (see Validation Messages).
- Use the window options to investigate the corresponding fields and make corrections, where required.
- Close the Output window.
