Spatial Rain Zones
Spatial Rain Zone objects are used to restrict the area on the GeoPlan over which spatial rain will be applied and displayed. Spatial rain data may be provided by Spatial Time Series Databases or by TVD Connectors set up as rain gage polygons.
The zones are of particular use in cropping the area over which spatial TSDB data is applied. If there are no spatial rain zones in the network, the spatial TSDB data is applied over the whole area covered by the source image(s).
The purpose of the Spatial Rain Zone is to crop the rainfall area from a source that covers an area much bigger than the network. Spatial Rain Zones should not be used if cropping is not necessary.
Spatial Rain Zones can be digitised directly on the GeoPlan Window.
Spatial Rain Zones parameters are edited in the Spatial Rain Zone Grid Window of the Polygons Grid or the Spatial Rain Zone Property Sheet. The geometry of the polygons can be edited using the same tools as those used for editing general Polygons.
In InfoWorks networks, initial hydraulic, infiltration and water quality values can be applied to the Spatial Rain Zone using a Catchment Initial Conditions object.
