Damage Function Editor

This editor is used to view and edit a set of damage graphs defining the relationship between flood depth and damage values, where damage values are expressed as a monetary value used to calculate the cost incurred by flooding.

For each Damage Receptor you can specify:

The period for which a damage curve is to be created.
The method of interpolation for the curve, which determines if the curve is displayed as a continuous or a stepped line.
The damage type. The generated curve will show the relationship between flood depth and one of the following damage values:

total cost of damage
cost of damage per unit value
cost of damage per unit area

The duration, in hours, of each damage curve. Up to 4 damage curves can be generated per period.

Editor field	Description
Code	Used in conjunction with Component field as a reference to associate damage curves with Damage Receptors.
Component	Used in conjunction with Code field as a reference to associate damage curves with Damage Receptors. May be null.
Start date	The date (day and month) that the damage curve generation is to start from. The format for the start date is DD-MON, where DD is a two digit number representing the date and MON is the first three letters of the month. The default start date is 01-Jan (the first of January).
End date	The date (day and month) that the damage curve generation is to end on. The format for the end date is DD-MON, where DD is a two digit number representing the date and MON is the first three letters of the month. The default end date is 31-Dec (the thirty-first of December).
Interpolation	Determines how the damage curves are displayed.The following options are available in the dropdown list: Linear (default): the damage curve is drawn as a continuous curve Stepped: damage curve is drawn as a step function
Damage type	Choice list of damage curve types: Absolute - this curve represents the relationship between flood depth and total cost of damage Relative to value - this curve represents the relationship between flood depth and cost of damage per unit value Relative to area - this curve represents the relationship between flood depth and cost of damage per unit area
Short duration curve absolute	Enabled when Damage type is set to Absolute. Lookup table of damage against depth to be used when flooding duration at the associated Damage Receptor is less than the Duration 2 threshold. Click (Ellipse) to display the Damage Function Graph dialog.
Short duration curve relative to value	Enabled when Damage type is set to Relative to value. Lookup table of damage against depth to be used when flooding duration at the associated Damage Receptor is less than the Duration 2 threshold. Damage values will be multiplied by the associated Damage Receptor's Value. Click (Ellipsis) to display the Damage Function Graph dialog.
Short duration curve relative to area	Enabled when Damage type is set to Relative to area. Lookup table of damage against depth to be used when flooding duration at the associated Damage Receptor is less than the Duration 2 threshold. Damage values will be multiplied by the associated Damage Receptor's Area. Click (Ellipsis) to display the Damage Function Graph dialog.
Duration 2 threshold	Threshold for switching between short and Duration 2 curves.
Duration 2 relative to value	Enabled when Damage type is set to Relative to value. Lookup table of damage against depth to be used when flooding duration at the associated Damage Receptor is greater than the Duration 2 threshold. Damage values will be multiplied by the associated Damage Receptor's Value. Click (Ellipsis) to display the Damage Function Graph dialog.
Duration 2 relative to area	Enabled when Damage type is set to Relative to area.
