Using Multiple GeoPlan Windows
You can open more than one GeoPlan Window of the same network. There are two options available, but before describing them you will need to understand one or two definitions.
The GeoPlan Window displays a network and additional data that is associated with it, such as:
- ground model data
- selections, themes and labels
Once this data is open in the GeoPlan, you can open other windows to view the data in different ways, such as the Grid Windows. In programmers language, this block of associated data is called a document. The GeoPlan, grids, and other windows are views of this document. Because there isn't another relevant term, we will use the term document to describe this block of related data, in other words the network and all the additional data that adds more meaning to your model.
The two options you have for multiple GeoPlans are:
- you can open more than one GeoPlan Window on the same document. In other words, you can view the network and all its associated data in both GeoPlans. You do this by choosing New GeoPlan window from the Window menu or by clicking the button on the Windows Toolbar.
- you can open a new GeoPlan, displaying the same network, but in a different document. This means you can include different associated data in this document, such as a different ground model. You do this by holding down the CTRL key while opening the network in the usual way.
