GeoPlan Locator Map

The GeoPlan Locator Map allows you to pinpoint your exact location within a network. This can sometimes be difficult when you are zoomed in on a specific area. You can also use it to pan around the network, making it easy to move around the whole network quickly.

The locator map displays a simple schematic of the entire network, with a highlighted box displaying the current location of the GeoPlan Window in relation to the network as a whole.

The locator map can be turned on and off using the Show Locator Window option on the GeoPlan tab, which is accessed from the Tools | Options menu. The GeoPlan needs to be closed and re-opened to implement the change.

The locator map must stay within the GeoPlan window, but it can be resized and positioned within that window in the same way as you would move or resize any other window.

Panning

A powerful feature of the GeoPlan Locator Map is the ability to move the area displayed by the main GeoPlan Window quickly and easily anywhere in the network.

If you move the cursor over the highlighted box in the locator map, the cursor changes to a .

With this cursor showing, click and hold the left mouse button down. You can now drag the highlighted box anywhere within the network. Simply release the mouse button to pan the main GeoPlan Window to this location.
