Using the GeoPlan Window

The GeoPlan Window is displayed when a network is opened. It displays a geographical representation of the network and allows the display of additional layers of map information. Using this view, it is possible to inspect any part of the network, edit any of its objects or add new objects to the network.

Some of the GeoPlan functionality is provided by a third party GIS product. InfoWorks ICM currently supports ArcGIS Engine and ArcGIS Desktop from ESRI and MapXtreme from Precisely. These allow the display of background maps and additional layers in MapXtreme or ESRI format. You should purchase and use the appropriate InfoWorks ICMversion depending on your mapping needs. To change the GIS product used by InfoWorks ICM, see the Changing the Current Map Control topic.

The topics in this section contain information on moving around the GeoPlan Window, altering the display of the network and selecting objects.
