Find and Zoom Using XY Coordinates

You can find any point in your model by entering their XY coordinates and, if necessary, change the zoom level to zoom in or out centred on that point. You can also find an address for the XY coordinates by looking up the address.

To find a point from its coordinates:

  1. Click Find XY () on the GeoPlan Tools Toolbar or select Go to XY coordinate from the GeoPlan menu. This displays the Go To XY Coordinates dialog.

  5. Choose a zoom level. The value given is the shortest distance across the GeoPlan Window. This is likely to be the top to bottom distance, but may vary depending on the window shape and the aspect ratio.
  6. Click OK to zoom in or out to the chosen level, centred on the chosen coordinates.

 

To find an address for a point using its coordinates:

  1. Click Find XY() on the GeoPlan Tools Toolbar or select Go to XY coordinate from the GeoPlan menu. This displays the Go To XY Coordinates Dialog.
  2. Either:

  4. Select the name of the web map application from a dropdown list in the Address lookup pane. This list is populated according to the applications which have been specified in the Online Find Options (Geocoding) dialog.
  5. Click Lookup and a list of all possible addresses for the specified X,Y coordinates are displayed in the bottom pane. Although you cannot edit this list, you can use the Windows® Copy option to copy an address from it.
