Lookup Tables
InfoWorks WS Pro provides a number of lookup tables to support model building.
Lookup tables can be accessed from the Model menu under the Tables sub-menu. The Model menu is only displayed when a network is open and one of the network views is the current active window.
The following lookup tables are available for reference purposes:
- Nominal Size Table: displays effective internal diameters for various pipe materials at different operating pressures.
- Colebrook White Roughness Table: displays roughness coefficients (k) for various pipe materials in different states of deterioration.
- Hazen Williams Roughness Table: displays roughness coefficients (C) for various pipe materials in different age bands.
- Minor Losses Table: displays an estimate of additional losses attributed to valves, bends and other fittings.
Other tables, viewable and editable on the Pipe Materials dialog, are used within the software for automatic lookup of roughness or effective pipe diameter. See Setting Pipe Roughness and Setting Pipe Diameter.
The Nominal Size table gives effective internal diameters for various pipe materials at different operating pressures. It is included as a table in the software for reference purposes only.
To display the Nominal Size table, choose Tables / Nominal Size Table from the Model menu. The Model menu is only displayed when a network is open and one of the network views is the current active window.
The Nominal Size table provides more detailed information for certain pipe materials than that available in the tables used for automated lookup. These are viewable and editable on the Pipe Materials dialog. See Setting Pipe Diameter for more about the process.
The Colebrook White Roughness table gives roughness coefficients (k) for various pipe materials in different states of deterioration. It is included as a table in the software for reference purposes only.
To display the Colebrook White Roughness table, choose Tables / CW Roughness Table from the Model menu. The Model menu is only displayed when a network is open and one of the network views is the Current Active WindowThe current Active Window in any Microsoft Windows application has a differently coloured title bar to all the other windows. In the default colour scheme, the active window title bar is blue, all other windows have a grey title bar..
The values in the Colebrook White Roughness table come from the Wallingford Charts Table 38.
The Hazen Williams Roughness table gives roughness coefficients (C) for various pipe materials in different age bands. It is included as a table in the software for reference purposes only.
To display the Hazen Williams Roughness table, choose Tables | HW Roughness Table from the Model menu. The Model menu is only displayed when a network is open and one of the network views is the Current Active WindowThe current Active Window in any Microsoft Windows application has a differently coloured title bar to all the other windows. In the default colour scheme, the active window title bar is blue, all other windows have a grey title bar..
The values in the Hazen Williams Roughness table come from the Manual of British Water Engineering Practice (4th Edition) Volume II Engineering Practice, Table XXXIII.
The Minor Losses table gives an estimate of additional losses attributed to valves, bends and other fittings in the water supply network. It is included as a table in the software for reference purposes only.
To display the Minor Losses table, choose Tables / Minor Losses Table from the Model menu. The Model menu is only displayed when a network is open and one of the network views is the Current Active WindowThe current Active Window in any Microsoft Windows application has a differently coloured title bar to all the other windows. In the default colour scheme, the active window title bar is blue, all other windows have a grey title bar..
The values in the Minor Losses table are identical to those provided in the WesNet package.
