InfoWorks WS Pro main window

The InfoWorks WS Pro main window is where you will:

• create and inspect details of the InfoWorks WS Pro database
• display various views of your networks
• produce graphs and reports

All actions are carried out by selecting options from the main menu bar, by clicking the toolbar buttons, and by right-clicking and selecting from the context menus.

The main window has a menu bar at the top, the contents of which will change depending on the action being taken. In many cases, these menu options lead to dialog boxes and other windows. You can get help for these dialogs and windows by pressing function key F1 (although you may have to select an object within a window before pressing F1 to see the help for that window).

When you are logged into Info360.com, the title bar displays the environment and tenant as follows, [Environment:Tenant].

A number of toolbars are displayed by default, providing easy access to commonly used commands. See About the toolbars for descriptions of these toolbars. You can show or hide the toolbars at any time, or change their layout and look to suit the way you work. See Customising the toolbars.

A status bar at the bottom of the window provides additional information about what you are currently doing, such as:

• more information about a menu item or toolbar button if you leave the cursor over the menu item or button
• zoom level on the GeoPlan window- this is given as both the distance across the GeoPlan (the distance between the two closest opposite sides) and as a more conventional 1:n ratio.
• the current location of the cursor over the GeoPlan, given as the position relative to the origin of the coordinate system

The rest of the window is used for displaying other, subsidiary windows, such as the Explorer window, Model Group window and GeoPlan window. The Explorer window and Model Group window provide alternative methods for displaying a graphical representation of the data associated with each master database. These windows can be opened by selecting the relevant options from the Window menu.

The GeoPlan window displays a selected network. This window is opened by dragging the icon for a network from the Explorer window or Model Group window onto the main window background.

The windows will display data relating to the current master database. To change the master database, choose Select master database from the File menu. For more information, see About the master database. The subsidiary windows contained in the main window can be closed by clicking their close window buttons , in the top right corner of the window. You can close all open windows by selecting Close all from the Window menu.
