Live data fields
Live data fields are displayed on the Live Data Point view.
Live data points coming from telemetry feeds reside in their original database and are accessed / loaded when required by InfoWorks WS Pro.
Live data points coming from flat files are not stored in the database. They remain in their original files for two reasons:
-
possible large size of data files
-
to avoid data duplication as this data may well be used in the organisation for other purposes
This data is displayed on theLive Data Point property sheet - Live Data Point page.
Fields in the database
The database fields describe where the live data file is and what should be in it.

Effective Channel Type |
Dropdown list of types of live data that may be derived from the live data file values. The live data will be treated as the type selected in this field for graphing and calculation purposes. For live data feeds, the Effective Channel Type is inferred from the External Units field of the Live Data Feed View. If the external units are not set to a flow, pressure, or concentration unit, the channel type will be set to NUMBER. Unit conversion is applied using the units set on the Live Data Feed View. |
