Changing network object type

You can change the type of a network object after it has been created. The object can be changed into any object that has the same underlying type (node or link). You cannot change a node type into a link type or vice versa.

Notes:

CAUTION:

To change the type of a single network object:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On network object property sheets displayed independently of the Object Properties window, click the Change Type button. If the network is read-only, this button is not displayed.
    • In the Object Properties window, click the Change type (change type) tool.
  2. In the Change Object Type dialog, select the new type for the object.
  3. To complete the change, click OK.

To change the type of several objects:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On an object grid window (for example, the Nodes grid window), select the objects whose type you want to change.
    • On the GeoPlan, select objects of the same type (for example, nodes) that you want to change.
  2. Then do one of the following:
    • From the grid context menu, select Change type for selected objects.
    • From the GeoPlan context menu, select Selection | Selection operations | Change type.
  3. In the Change Object Type dialog, select the new type for the objects.
  4. To complete the change, click OK.
