About network objects

Network objects in InfoWorks WS Pro are divided into categories as described below.

Object Category	Description
Nodes	A node is a location within the water supply system where head, inflow, or outflow is known. For more information, see Nodes. There are six types of node available: Simple node Fixed head node Hydrant node Transfer node Reservoir Well
Links	A link is a connection between two nodes. For more information, see Links. There are six types: Simple pipe Valve Float valve Non-return valve Meter About pumping stations
Polygons	Polygons provide a method for specifying a geographical area on the GeoPlan window. The polygon types are: Polygons Node polygons
Object groups	An object group is a group of objects of the same type for which results are aggregated. The object group types are: Pump station group Link group Reservoir group
Customer points	Customer points are a specialist type of spatial data point that can be used to carry out demand allocation.
Spatial data	Spatial data points can represent any form of spatial data to be associated with the network Spatial data can be allocated to appropriate pipes in the network.
