Comparing networks

Networks can be compared to identify differences between network objects:

  1. from the database tree
  2. from an open network

The options available when comparing networks vary slightly depending on the method used.

The results of the comparison can be output to the screen or a text file. When comparing using the database tree, results can also be output to a CSV file, which can subsequently be used to apply the changes between networks to other networks.

(If using an Oracle database, a report of differences between checked in network versions of a single asset can also be produced. See Viewing the history of an asset for more information.)

Networks can be compared from the database tree displayed in the Model Group window or the Explorer window.

This option is available to all Version Controlled Items and is fully described in the Comparing topic.

  3. Select comparison operations in the dialog.
