Recording a replay as an AVI File
A simulation replay can be captured and saved to a video (AVI) file. The following views can be recorded:
Note: You cannot change the size of the replay window once recording has started.
To record a simulation replay:
- Set up the parameters for the replay so that you record the data you want to see:
- Zoom in and scroll the view being recorded to concentrate on the area of interest.
- Set the size of the view to the minimum necessary
to show all the results you want to record.
This will help to reduce the size of the resulting AVI file.
- Click the
(Jump to/replay options) tool on the Replay toolbar.
This displays the Replay Options dialog.
On this dialog:
- Choose the start and finish times for the simulation replay. Limiting the time you record will reduce the size of the AVI file.
- Adjust the replay speed to best suit the results you are recording. You may need to alter the speed by trial and error until the best output is generated in the AVI file.
- To continue, click OK.
- Click the
(Record) tool on the Replay toolbar.
This displays a Windows File Save dialog.
- Choose where you want to save the AVI file you
are about to create and give the file a name.
As soon as you click Save the recording will begin.
Recording will end when:
- you reach the end of the replay time
- you stop the replay
- you close the window you are currently recording
