Using dockable windows
InfoWorks WS Pro has several windows containing important or additional information that can be docked to any side of the InfoWorks WS Pro main window so the information is always visible. The windows can also be undocked so that they float within or outside the application window (which can be very useful for those working on multiple screens). Because of their special properties, you can float these windows outside the bounds of the InfoWorks WS Pro main window.
The dockable windows in InfoWorks WS Pro are:
These windows are displayed as docked windows by default.
- To undock a window, drag the window by its title bar away from the edges of the current screen / page. The window can be repositioned by dragging its title bar to the desired location.
- To dock a floating window, drag the window by its title bar close to the edge of the current screen / page; a blue highlight will show the location at which the window will be docked once the mouse button is released.
- Click the Close X button on the window title bar to close the window.
- To redisplay a window that has been closed, select the window option from the Window menu.
- To move a window without docking it, hold down the Ctrl key as you drag the title bar.
Resizing a dockable window
The size and position of dockable windows can be changed:
- To change the size of a floating window, drag any corner or edge of the window.
When docked, the window can only be resized by dragging one of the free edges of the window.
Resetting dockable window position
You can reset the size and position of the various dockable windows (including toolbars) around the main window back to the InfoWorks WS Pro default settings. However, any changes you make will only take effect when you close InfoWorks WS Pro and restart the application.
To reset dockable windows back to the default locations:
- Choose Reset toolbars and windows from the Tools menu, quit the application and restart (you do not have to do this immediately).
