Managing Approval Statuses and Levels
It is possible to set InfoAsset Manager to automatically manage task approval status and level.
This is achieved by selecting the Manage approval status option of the Custom Scheduling dialog.
Please Note
If user permissions are enabled, Custom Scheduling options can only be edited by Database Owners.
In this case, the task Approval status and Approval level fields are automatically updated when creating the task or updating it (provided the task is active) according to the following rules:
- The update is only performed for scheduled tasks and incidents whose type corresponds to the type set in the Task type field of the Approval Level objects. A blank field indicates that the approval is generic and applies to all scheduled tasks, regardless of their type.
- The Approval Level automatically associated with the relevant scheduled task or incident is the approval level with the cost threshold that is the closest to the task estimated cost but below.
- InfoAsset Manager looks through the Approval level grid for the approval level with the highest cost threshold which the task/incident’s estimated cost is above. The task Approval level field is automatically set to the ID of that Approval level object. If none of the relevant approval level objects have a cost threshold higher than the estimate cost, the approval level field is blanked.
- If the Approval level field is blanked, the Approval status is automatically set to Not required (unless the approval status is already set to Approved in which case it will not be changed).
- If the Approval level field is set the Approval status is set to Pending (unless the approval level field was already set to an approval level with a higher cost threshold in which case it will not be changed).
