Incidents
Incident objects are used to track reported incidents. Built-in incident objects include information on the location and cause of the incident, action to be taken to resolve the incident, and the cost of resolving the incident.
In addition to these built-in types, it is possible for users to define their own incidents. For this, the (Undefined variable: Variables.InfoAsset Manager Suite) option must be enabled on your licence. Contact Innovyze for information about adding this option to your existing licence.
User Defined Incidents are valid for all network types, including Asset networks.
Once the incident has been resolved, it can be flagged as closed by checking the Closed field. A group of incidents can be closed at the same time by selecting the incident objects and using the Selection operations | Close selected incidents and tasks option from the Selection menu. For each object in the selection that is not already closed, this tool will set the Closed field of the object to checked and the Date closed field to today's date.
The incident types available in InfoAsset Manager are:

Incident objects can be created on the GeoPlan. When created on the GeoPlan the Date opened field will automatically be set to the current Date / Time. See Digitising Network Objects for further information.
Incidents can also be viewed and edited in the Incidents Grid and the Incident Property Sheet.
Reports providing a summary and detailed information about selected Incidents in the network are available. See the Incident Reports topic for further information.
The user can easily identify which Incident is associated with a Pipe, Node or Property using the Navigate | To Related Objects () toolbar option from the Pipe / Node / Property tabbed Property Sheet or the Object Properties Window, which opens the relevant Incident property sheet.
Alternatively, you can launch the Object Browser Window to display object relationships and manage related objects.
There are tools available to automatically associate incidents with assets or properties in the network. See Joining Selected Incidents with Network Objects for details.
There are a number of operations used for Scheduled Tasks that also apply to Incidents:
Active incidents (incidents for which the Resolved field is not set), will be updated when updating scheduled tasks:
- Incidents that have been completed will be automatically closed - the Closed field of the incident will be checked and the Date closed field updated to the current date.
- If Custom Scheduling has been set up, the appropriate SQL queries and cost / duration calculations will be run on the active and completed incidents.
Individual incidents can be manually reactivated by unchecking the object's Resolved and Closed fields.
A selection of incident objects can also be reactivated by selecting the objects from the GeoPlan Window or Grid Window and choosing Selection operations | Reactivate selected incidents and tasks from the Selection menu.
For each object in the selection that is still active, this tool will set the Resolved and Closed fields of the object to checked and the Date resolved and Date closed fields to today's date.
Individual incidents can be manually flagged as resolved by checking the object's Resolved field.
A selection of incident objects can also be marked as resolved by selecting the objects from the GeoPlan Window or Grid Window and choosing Selection operations | Mark selected incidents and tasks complete from the Selection menu.
For each object in the selection that is not already flagged as resolved, this tool will set the Resolved field of the object to checked and the Date resolved field to today's date.
If there are objects in the selection that are already flagged as resolved, but are also flagged as closed, the option to remove the closed status for these objects will be given.
By default, incidents that have been resolved will automatically be closed when updated. (The option to close tasks on update is set in the Custom Scheduling Dialog.)
Individual incidents can be manually flagged as closed by checking the object's Closed field.
A selection of incident objects can also be closed by selecting the objects from the GeoPlan Window or Grid Window and choosing Selection operations | Close selected incidents and tasks from the Selection menu.
For each object in the selection that is not already closed, this tool will set the Closed field of the object to checked and the Date closed field to today's date.
