Configuring the server

The first time you open InfoAsset Mobile, the Manage Server Connections dialog is displayed for server details to be entered:

1. Type in a user-friendly name for the server in the Name box and an address for it in the Server Address box.
2. Select a Server Port.
3. Click on Add to add the new server, and check that the entered server details are valid.
4. If a confirmation message is displayed, click OK to close it.
5. To save the changes, click OK .

   The Log In dialog is displayed. In there, you will be asked for credentials (username and password).

Changing server

The instructions to change the server to connect to depends whether the server has already been accessed.

If the server to connect to has already been accessed:

• At log-in time, select Server from the Server Communications menu item in the Log In dialog, and select the desired server from the list of servers that have already been accessed.

OR

• Select Server from the File menu item if already logged in, and select the desired server from the list of servers that have already been accessed.

If the server to connect to has been previously accessed but that connection details need modifying, or if the server has never been accessed in the past, please refer to the section below.

Creating a new connection or editing an existing connection

1. Select Server then Manage servers... from the Server Communications menu item in the Log In dialog, or select Server then Manage servers... from the File menu if already logged in.

   The Manage Server Connections dialog is displayed.

2. If setting up a new connection:
   1. Select <New Connection> in the Server box.
   2. Follow the steps in Configuring the server, above.
3. If updating the details for an existing server and connection:
   1. Edit the desired connection details.
   2. To save the changes, click Update, then click OK to close the dialog.
