To import a network from WATSYS/WaterMax files:

  1. Right click the Model Group in either the Model Group window or Explorer window.
  2. Select Import | Model from WATSYS/WaterMax Files from the context menu. This displays the Start Page of the WATSYS/WaterMax Import Wizard. Otherwise click Next to display the Select File Page.
  3. Type in the name of the WATSYS/WaterMax Input (.WDT) file, or search for it using the Browse button. Click Next to display the Names Page.
  4. Select names for the Network, Control Set, and any other groups that will be created by the import. The suggested names are based on the Input file name. Click Next to carry out the import process.
  5. Progress bars will be displayed at the bottom of the screen as the data is imported. Finally, the Finished Page is displayed.
  6. The Finished Page shows feedback information about the import.

After Import is Complete

Once the WATSYS data has been imported, some adjustments and additional data will probably be required to complete the imported network.

Feedback from the import process is displayed on the Finished Page, the last page of the WATSYS Import Wizard. This feedback is saved in the Description data for all imported items:

To access this description, right click the item (Network, Control Set or Demand Diagram) and choose Properties from the context menu. Then go to the Description Page of the Properties dialog.

The WATSYS/WaterMax Conversion Notes topic discusses some of the issues involved in the import process.
