Setting the highest property
After carrying out demand allocation, you can set the highest property at each node based on the elevation of the customer points. This information will be displayed in the Highest Property Level field in the Node grid view of the Nodes grid and on the Node Definition page of the Node property sheet. See Static Demand Allocation for more about demand allocation using customer points.
You may want to automatically set the customer point elevation from digital terrain data. If you do this at the same time as setting the elevation for your nodes, you ensure that nodes and customer points all have valid spot heights before carrying out this procedure.
To set the highest property values:
- Choose Model | Set highest property .
Note: The menu option is unavailable for networks using the lock method of version control that are not checked out.
The Set Highest Property dialog is displayed.
- Select the required options on the dialog:
- You can apply changes to the entire network, or just selected nodes.
- Choose how to process nodes that already have a highest property level value. You can:
- leave these unchanged
- overwrite them unless they have a flag that you specify (if you choose this option but do not specify a flag, all existing high property values will be overwritten)
- Choose a flag to set for the changed highest property level values.
- To complete the process, click OK.
For each node, InfoWorks WS Pro will look through all the customer points attached to the node and set the Highest Property Level field for the node to the highest Elevation value.
- If only some customer points have an Elevation value, the Highest Property Level field is set to the highest available value.
- If no Elevation values are available, no changes are made.
Using the highest property
Once the highest property is set for each node, you can use the additional information for service level reporting.
