Adjusting Parameters for Selected Objects

You can adjust one or more parameters of selected network objects using the Adjust Selected Network Values dialog.

  1. Select one or more network objects. You can select both nodes and links if you want to make different changes to both object types. You can select different types of node or link if appropriate. See Selecting Network Objects.
  2. Choose Selection operations | Adjust selected values from the Selection menu. This displays the Adjust Selected Network Values dialog.
  3. In the dialog, decide whether you want the changes to apply to selected nodes or selected links.
  4. Choose the field you want to adjust from the Field dropdown list. The field name given is the name used in the database. The field title, which you see on grids or property sheets, is given in the lower box when you select a field.

You can see the database field names in the Network Data Fields topic. The Long Description shown in this topic is the name shown on the grids.

  5. With the field selected, the types of node or link for which the field is relevant are checked in the Object Type box. Uncheck any types you do not want affected by the change.
  6. Choose how to adjust the parameter. On some fields (for example text fields) you can only replace the current value. For numeric fields you can enter a value that is used to adjust or replace the existing value.
  7. If required, replace the flag for a field that allows flags. You cannot replace the flag without also adjusting the value.
  8. Click OK to make the changes and close the dialog. You are given the option of aborting the process. Use the Apply button to make changes without closing the dialog. This allows you to make adjustments to more than one field.
Rounding Rules

When adjusting integer values by a percentage or using a multiplier, non-integer outcomes are always rounded towards zero. For example, a value of 3.6 is rounded down to 3 while a value of -3.6 is rounded up to -3.
