Carrying out an isolation analysis

The isolation analyser is used to search for isolated sections of the network. Closed links are identified from control data. In addition, a selection of links to be regarded as closed may be included for use in isolation analysis.

To carry out an isolation analysis:

  1. Open a network.

The network does not have to be checked out.

  2. Optionally, open a control set.

The analysis will be enhanced if control data is associated with the network.

  3. Optionally, select the links on the network that you want included in the analysis.

If you do not select the objects at this stage, you can specify which ones to use later.

  4. Select Tools | Isolation analyser… .

This displays the Isolation Analyser dialog.

  5. Select the links to be closed.

You can click the # (Current) button in the Selection List box to use the links currently selected on the GeoPlan, or you can drag a selection list into the Selection List box.
