Loading a control profile from live data (Example)

A control profile object is a time varying profile that is not directly associated with a network object.

This topic describes how to load profiles from live data.

Notes:

Procedure for loading a control profile from live data when using property sheets

  1. Click the Properties (Properties) tool on the Tools toolbar.
  2. On the GeoPlan, click the object whose control profile you want to set up.
  3. Click the Valve Control tab.

    If the Valve Control tab is not showing, it may be because controls have not been added , in which case click the Add Control button.

  4. In the Control Parameters area of the Valve Control page, select a supported valve type from the Mode ID dropdown list.

    Supported valve types are FRV, PRV, PSV, and TCV.

  5. Click the Load from Live Data button.

    This displays the Link To Live Data dialog.

  6. Select a live data source to update from.

    If you are using another live data point, select the live data point from the accompanying dropdown list.

    If you are using a file, click the Browse For File button and search for the data file.

  7. To update the control profile grid and graph on the property sheet, click Update on the Link To Live Data dialog.

    Note: If the data in the live data file is not compatible with the control profile type, or the live data is not within the control data time interval, a warning will be displayed and no changes will be made.

  8. When updates have been carried out, the Link To Live Data dialog can be closed using the X button in the top right corner.

Procedure for loading a control profile from live data when using the Properties window

  1. Click the Properties (Properties) tool on the Tools toolbar.
  2. On the GeoPlan, click the object whose control profile you want to set up.
  3. In the Valve Control section of the Properties window, select a supported valve type from the Mode ID dropdown list.

    Supported valve types are FRV, PRV, PSV, and TCV.

  4. In the Valve Control section of the Properties window, click the ellipsis button in the Profiles property.

    This displays the Profiles dialog.

  5. Click the Load from Live Data button.

    This displays the Link To Live Data dialog.

  6. Select a live data source to update from.

    If you are using another live data point, select the live data point from the accompanying dropdown list.

    If you are using a file, click the Browse For File button and search for the data file.

  7. To update the control profile grid and graph on the Profiles dialog, click Update on the Link To Live Data dialog.
