Manually allocating spatial data points
The Spatial Data Analysis Wizard is a useful tool for allocating large amounts of spatial data to pipes in the network.
However, the user may wish to carry out some manual allocation for a small number of points, or to adjust allocation carried out by the Spatial Data Analysis Wizard.
Manual allocation of spatial data points can be carried out by:
- Entering allocation manually using the Spatial Data Grid View or the Spatial Data Parameters Page on the Spatial Data Property Sheet
- Using the Allocate Selected Spatial Data Points button on the Tools Toolbar
To use the Allocate Selected Spatial Data Points button:
- Select spatial data points to be allocated. These may either be currently unallocated or already allocated to a node. The Allocate Selected Spatial Data Points button will now be available.
- Click the Allocate Selected Spatial Data Points button.
- Click the pipe to which the selected Spatial Data Points are to be allocated. An Allocation dialog will be displayed.
- On the Allocation dialog, optionally select a user defined flag to be applied to the Allocated Pipe ID field. This may be used to identify spatial data points that have been allocated manually and can be viewed in the Spatial Data Grid or on the Spatial Data Parameters Page on the Spatial Data Property Sheet of individual points.
- Click OK to carry out the allocation or Cancel to cancel the operation.
- InfoWorks will allocate the spatial data point to the pipe in Step 3. If the spatial data points selected were already allocated, the original allocation will be removed and reallocated to the chosen pipe.
