Setting up a System head curve simulation
System head curve simulations will provide proposed head-flow curves for pumps.
Results from this analysis can help you with the selection of suitable pump types in your final network design, and can assist in planning the capacity of pumps.
This run type does not determine where pumps should be placed, instead it generates system head curves for existing pumps.
System head curves simulations can be created for different times, and results are displayed in the System Head Curve report and the Pump Operation page.
To set up a System head curve simulation:
-
Set up the simulation as normal, as described in Creating and scheduling a run.
-
Set the Run Type option to System head curve. The System Head Curve Options dialog is displayed automatically when this option is first selected. The dialog can also be opened later using the Options button when System Head Curve is the run type.
-
Set criteria on the System Head Curve dialog.
-
Run the simulation as normal.
Notes:
-
A base simulation is carried out and it is possible to open the full replay results.
-
The System head curve report is the standard result. The report shows key results and properties of pumps, and you can use the context menu to find pumps in the GeoPlan.
-
System Head Curves are displayed in the Pump Station dialog. This dialog can be accessed from the System head curve report or from the Pump properties page.
