Adding a 2D zone to an InfoWorks ICM river model

This tutorial has been designed to help you understand the various steps involved in adding a 2D zone to a river model in InfoWorks ICM. It must be completed in conjunction with the Adding a bridge to an InfoWorks ICM river model tutorial which should be finished before embarking on adding a 2D zone.

Important Note

Before making a start on this tutorial, please ensure you have read the Tutorials Welcome page as it contains important information about installing the provided example data.

When adding 2D areas to a model you will need to have good ground model data for the surrounding area available to capture items such as bank lines, ponds and ditches.

The tutorial has been split into ordered sections. The sections included in this tutorial are:

step 1 - Adding a 2D zone polygon

step 2 - Meshing the 2D zone

step 3 - Running simulations on the 2D zone model

step 4 - Viewing 2D zone simulation results
